Ahh! What bliss the weekend is finally here. This week has been a struggle in some areas for me, but its all good in the hood now that Friday is here ;o). I started my fourth term this past Wednesday, and oh my what a doosie it is gonna be. I had my first A&P class and oh my is my instructor boring! It was like Ben Stine except not nasally. I hope this next 9 weeks go by fast. Oh and he is a stickler for rules, no personal this, or that, and you have to have one reference for each discussion class. I guess I got used to my past instructors having us use our brains for our own insight and thoughts not someone else.
Anyways I'm quite excited tonight! I love ice hockey for those of you who do not know, and my Philadelphia Flyers are making history tonight! They were down 0-3 in the play off series against the Bruins, and have managed to come back, tie the series, an force a game 7. If they win tonight they will be the 3rd team in all of NHL history to do so. So I am watching that game tonight! I can't wait.
Tomorrow I'm off to the beach with my only friend here in FL. We're going to enjoy the 91 degree weather, and have some drinks by the ocean. The only pleasant thing about living in FL or at least until the oil spill ruins our waters.
Hi Maggie,
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had more fun than I did. I spent the weekend in the hospital in some major pain! Seems the tramadol I am forced to take for chronic pain crashed my potassium level and elevated my CPK levels. Yes, tramadol is the SSRI relative and I finally have proof that it is damaging my body! They put me on Percocet and 45 min. later my blood pressure came back to normal for the first time in a year (it's been running consistently 150-175/95-110). I told them it was uncontrolled pain combined with SSNRI damage. All of their non addictive (or so they believe) pain killers for chronic pain contain this or SSDRI's. I love it when I'm right! I love it when I get proof of my thesis too!! I'll bet you love A&P I so far! I know I did!! Who is teaching your course?
I hope the oil catastrophy dosen't mess up the ocean in North Carolina! That's where I'm moving for my internship and to continue into research with my accelerated bachelors from Kaplan!
I'll post soon but I have DB's to catch up on!
Mark
Hey Mark,
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you got so sick. I have a love hate relationship with Tramadol. I was put on it after a car accident, and my cracker jack doctor told me to take it like advil. I didn't know until months later that it can cause severe damage to your stomach when taken that way. So I try to pretty much stay away from it. I do see the good in it though, for individuals who are addicted to opiates. They say it is not addictive, and is a nerve blocker, but I think when someone has an addictive personality they can become addicted to anything. It is amazing to me sometimes how doctors treat people.
Dr. Mike Haight is my professor for A&P. I thought it was supposed to be an Honors class, but its not. So I need to talk to my academic adviser and see what's up. I've noticed a few changes like no more late policy work, which is BS to me.
I hope they manage to clean up the oil spill to. Governor Christ has thankfully pulled his support of oil drilling off the coast, but it doesn't change the impact this will have on the environment. He said there have been predictions it could affect all of FL. There is so many wildlife species that could be altered forever do to this, it breaks my heart.I just can't believe they were allowed to drill that far down without the necessary contingency plans in place. It really fires me up!!!
Well I hope it doesn't effect the NC coast either. If it ends up going around like that it could affect so many areas including the wildlife up the Atlantic coast. BP are on my I will never purchase gas or anything else from them list.
